چکیده
We derive the explicit analytical form for charge-dipole and dipole-dipole interactions in two-dimensional (2D) configuration space. demonstrate that reduction of dimensionality can alter 2D case. The asymptotics these at long distances coincide to three-dimensional obtained will find wide application contribute advancement research on novel materials.

Computer simulations of two-dimensional melting with dipole-dipole interactions.
We perform molecular dynamics and Monte Carlo simulations of two-dimensional melting with dipole-dipole interactions. Both static and dynamic behaviors are examined. In the isotropic liquid phase, the bond orientational correlation length xi 6 and susceptibility chi 6 are measured, and the data are fitted to the theoretical ansatz. An algebraic decay is detected for both spatial and temporal bo...
متن کاملDipole-dipole interactions in nanoparticle superlattices.
Nanoparticles often self-assemble into hexagonal-close-packed (hcp) structures although it is predicted to be less stable than face-centered-cubic (fcc) packing in hard-sphere models. In addition to close-packed fcc and hcp superlattices, we observe formation of nonclose-packed simple-hexagonal (sh) superlattices of nearly spherical PbS, PbSe, and gamma-Fe2O3 nanocrystals. This surprisingly ric...
متن کاملDipole Interactions in Nanosystems
The dipole-dipole interaction influences nanoscopic matter by fixing the patterns of permanent, displacive, and induced dipole moments, subject to constraints of molecular size and other short range interactions. Prediction of these arrangements is a challenging problem. The eigenvector of maximum eigenvalue of the dipole-dipole interaction matrix can provide insights and sometimes a complete s...
متن کاملEffective dipole-dipole interactions in multilayered dipolar Bose-Einstein condensates
We propose a two-dimensional model for a multilayer stack of dipolar Bose-Einstein condensates formed by a strong optical lattice. We derive effective intraand interlayer dipole-dipole interaction potentials and provide simple analytical approximations for a given number of lattice sites at arbitrary polarization. We find that the interlayer dipole-dipole interaction changes the transverse aspe...
